
SCADA Engineer III

Job Summary:
Act as a subject matter expert (SME) with proficiency in at least three SCADA packages and supporting software/hardware, you will function as the technical lead on a project of any scale as needed. Provide mentoring and training of junior staff. Excellent opportunity to develop the leadership skills and experience needed to continue your professional development. Develop strong rapport with Tesco internal teams, contractors, and with end customers. Support the department manager and supervisors with departmental tasks to achieve continuous improvement objectives.
Essential Functions:
Setup and configure SCADA hardware and software
Perform factory functional testing of programmed control systems, HMI, and SCADA
Modify PLC and HMI applications in the field
Troubleshoots control system control problems; implements software and hardware solutions to resolve problems
Interface effectively with other staff on multi-disciplinary projects
Successfully executes startups of large and/or complex projects
Act as technical lead of a project
Generate RFIs with minimal review necessary
Strong knowledge of water/wastewater processes
Develop error free SCADA tag databases, screens, scripting and customer reports
Mentor and train other employees on related tasks
Education/Training:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or Computer Engineering plus 5 years of experience in SCADA programming and development
Experience with Visual Basic and Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with control systems networking and communications
Skills/ Knowledge:
Knowledge of current computer technology and TCP/ IP configurations
Working knowledge of SCADA software packages such as Wonderware, Wonderware System Platform, Ignition, Clear SCADA, VTSCADA, WinCC, etc.
Proficient in Visio and Object library organization and development
Thorough understanding of TCP/IP based protocols such as Modbus TCP, Ethernet IP
Understanding of Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity
