Learning Services, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner is a growing organization dedicated to excellence, honesty and ethics in the treatment of our clients and each other. For more than 35 years, we’ve developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries. We provide treatment for post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues and accident or sports-related head injuries. Our CARF accredited, post acute residential, vocational and outpatient programs are offered in the Philadelphia, Pittsburgh regions of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Louisiana and Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, Utah, Colorado, and California
Responsibilities
The Speech Language Pathologist provides evaluation and treatment for clients with language expression, speech production, pragmatics, and comprehension difficulties, as well as cognitive changes and swallowing disorders as a result of the neurological disorder or brain injury.
Specific areas of treatment may include, but are not limited to:
Speech/language, communication, and cognitive needs
Swallowing disorders
Alternative communication methods for clients with little or no speech capability.
Client and family education and coping with neurological disorders.
Adaptive equipment and/or compensatory strategies based on the treatment and discharge plans.
Teaching team members strategies needed to support the client’s treatment plan.
Discharge planning services including modifying strategies for discharge setting, and educating caregivers.
Educational and experiential learning to address assertiveness, self-awareness, interpersonal and social skills, stress management, and communication skills through groups.
Vocational/avocational pursuits providing task analysis, strategies for the job or volunteer site and providing job coaching as needed.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
Minimum 2 years experience required
State licensure
Knowledge of treatment techniques for neurologically impaired clients.
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrates ability to develop and implement flexible and creative treatment options.
Utilizes a functional approach to the re-mediation of neurological deficits.
Able to transport residents to appointments and community activities
Assist with resident transfers when assigned or as necessary
Ability to lift (50) pounds unassisted
