
Staff engineer, Atomistic & quantum simulation developer
What You’ll Do
The lab focuses on the development of Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) models and simulation software for deploying advanced manufacturing processes for semiconductor devices and materials. SDL supports logic, memory and LED technology development, as well as the development of compact models for advanced logic and memory technology. In addition, the teams of top engineering talent at the lab conduct pioneering TCAD-based device research on extremely low-power applications
The candidate will be a key member of Device Lab, working on exciting projects focused on atomistic- and quantum- related issues in the development of advanced logic and memory devices.
Location: Hybrid, working onsite at our San Jose, CA headquarters 3 days a week, with the flexibility to work remotely the remainder of the time.

Development of atomistic and multi-physics models and solution methods for semiconductor device/process simulations
Development of advanced algorithms and models for highly efficient numerical simulations
Path-finding researches on next generation semiconductor logic/memory devices
Identify and implement best practices for quality and efficiency
Work as part of a global team focused on quality, reliability and performance
What You Bring
PhD in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics, and 5 years of relevant experience preferred
C/C++ and Python programming skills (MPI, CUDA etc.)
Quantum transport simulation (Density-functional tight-binding etc.)
Knowledge of semiconductor process and experience on process simulations (TCAD simulation)
Optimization of numerical simulation (Sparse linear/eigen solvers, approximate computing etc.)
