
Global Strategic Alliances Principal Architect, Financial Services

Pure is hiring a Global Strategic Alliances Principal Architect, Financial Services to lead Pure’s strategic partnerships across the Financial Services ecosystem.
Primary responsibilities include thought leadership, solution and GTM strategy development and execution, and business planning by region & segment. As the first global Alliance leader for the Financial Services (FinServ) industry, this role has unique requirements that demand tight alignment across Pure’s business units (products), solutions, marketing and the global sales & partner organizations. As a proven leader delivering a modern storage experience, Pure has much to offer FinServ customers. Aligning Pure’s innovation with the most pressing and visible industry requirements represents a significant opportunity. Further alignment across top FinServ ISVs will open new doors for Pure and further inform our product and solutions roadmap.
What You Will Be Doing
Develop and drive strategic alliances with leading Financial Service industry partners at a leadership and/or executive level based on spend data, feedback from field and partner engagements.
Evaluate current market trends against Pure’s product & solutions portfolio as well as historical performance (Win/Loss, Revenue, NNLs, etc.) to determine the most appropriate Vertical/Sub-Vertical approach
Partner with Global Sales Organization (GSO) and Global Partner Organization (GPO) leaders to align vertical business goals, activities and targets with overall global targets
Lead the development of Pure’s global solutions strategy & portfolio for Financial Services, by collaborating with a cross-functional team across Pure’s business units (products), solutions, marketing and the global sales & partner organizations
Partner with marketing to ensure appropriate solution marketing collateral, co-branding and joint events are successful in building Pure brand awareness and pipeline opportunities.
Coordinate and ensure delivery of solution enablement training for Pure’s GTM, channel partners, and global alliance partners.
Partner with Pure’s extended Global Strategic Alliances team (Data Protection, Cloud, etc.) to drive new/incremental value for Pure sales and Pure partners including Cisco, SAP, VMware, Azure, AWS, etc.
Establish and report key metrics for Pure’s Financial Services vertical business globally, alliance partner performance, etc. by conducting periodic business reviews with stakeholders across the organization
Provide a voice for Pure in the Financial Services market through thought leadership activities including speaking engagements, media interviews and blog posts.
Support field opportunities as an industry SME and collaborate on enablement activities for Puritans and partners with marketing and training resources.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…
8+ years experience as technology executive for multinational or global Financial Services organization with responsibilities for P&L, technology strategy, architecture & operations OR 15+ years experience in high tech business development, relationship/alliance management, and/or technical solution sales & marketing with a minimum of 5 years specifically devoted to business development & alliances.
Deep understanding of the Financial Services industry from multi-year experience working for one or more of the following: global bank, payment processor, HFT/Algo platform, FinTech, or similar type organization.
A perspective on the use of data within the Financial Services industry, both challenges and value, and the ability to provide thought leadership in this space.
Familiarity with key application workloads and the data platforms used to support them including closely related technologies and competitive offerings in the marketplace.
Ability to set and manage priorities, budgets, and deadlines. Experienced at managing teams and delivering on time with multiple concurrent priorities.
Ability to balance leadership, strategy, sales and a roll-up your sleeves and "get it done" attitude.
Communications and collaboration skills to work effectively with and influence internally, externally and internationally with product management, product marketing and GTM teams.
Highly motivated and productive in a hyper-growth environment. Excellent relationship building and negotiating skills.
Availability to travel domestically and internationally 30% to 40% of the time
Pure Storage applies a geographic based pay structure depending on an employee’s location. For applicants located in Colorado (as required by SB19-085) or New York:
The annual base salary range is: $177,000 - $283,000. This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
