IT SaaS Engineer

The Role

As a SaaS Engineer in our IT team you’ll be focused on supporting our suite of collaboration tools. You’ll be responsible for day to day management and improvements to the tools that our teams use to communicate and stay productive, including Google Workspace, Slack and a number of other modern collaboration tools.

The ideal candidate would have a good working knowledge of SaaS enterprise technologies, integrations and APIs. We are looking for someone who is curious, keen to understand how things work under the hood. You will have a passion for using automation, new products and features to help the team fulfil its mission.

In this role you will:

You’ll participate in IT projects, with a view to leading your own focusing on delivering a solution or technical improvement.

You’ll be an escalation point for our IT Support team for our collaboration and productivity tools.

Provide hands-on and remote root cause analysis of IT issues

Develop scripts, tools, processes or solutions to proactively prevent problems, improve user productivity and automate recurring tasks.

You will also be a contributor to:

Growing and scaling our core application stack.

Finding and connecting new applications that enable our customers to be as productive as possible

Onboarding new SaaS vendors, both reviewing them with the Privacy/Security team and building business cases and product assessments to introduce them at GoCardless

Establishing and growing our SaaS management capabilities to better discover, manage and secure the core stack

Building core workflows to make the employee experience at GoCardless smooth - whether they are joining, moving within or leaving GoCardless

Given the versatile nature of the role, we’re looking for someone who learns fast, enjoys collaborating with others, and is a pragmatic decision-maker.

Sound experience knowledge of macOS, Google Workspace Administration and Google Cloud Identity, including user management, devices, applications.

Sound Experience supporting cloud based and SaaS applications and SSO Okta, including Slack, Atlassian products

In-depth knowledge of various IT systems including email, document storage, identity, device management.

Knowledge of best practices around engineering, data security and identity

Coding/scripting experience in one or more general purpose languages

Knowledge of the Google Workspace Developer tools including Apps Script and Google Workspace APIs

You care deeply about outstanding user experience

You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
