Brief Summary of Purpose:

The Internal Audit Intern will report into the Manager Internal Audit and focus on assisting with activities related to Model Audit Rule ("MAR") control testing, operational/financial testing, and other internal audits/projects as needed. This is a temporary opportunity with the potential for full-time permanent employment for the right fit.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Audit Manager or Senior Auditor, provide administrative and functional support to the internal audit department on a wide range of financial and operational audits.

Assist in the preparation and execution of Model Audit Rule (MAR) compliance testing which involves a variety of audit activities including (but not limited to) the following:

Reviewing controls

Organizing, preparing, and validating incoming supporting documentation

Updating and executing on test plans

Summarizing findings

Uploading workpapers to internal audit system

Assist in the preparation of claims testing/workpapers and the retrieval of financial related data.

Perform ad-hoc audit tasks as assigned.

Participate in meetings/interviews with other staff auditors to gain audit exposure and knowledge.

Assist audit staff in articulating audit findings in support of the preparation of audit reports.

Qualifications

Education:

May 2023 undergraduate or graduate candidate currently enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance or Accounting.

Strong interest in exploring a career in Internal Audit.

Minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Experience:

Strong technical skills including Microsoft Office applications

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Dependable, responsible, and self-motivated.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and professional demeanor

Possess a high degree of integrity and confidentiality based on exposure to personal and confidential information.

Fallon Health Compliance Program Training: In accordance with regulations that govern the healthcare insurance industry, upon hire, all employees are required to complete an online compliance and fraud, waste, and abuse (FWA) training course.
