Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Management

Overview

Job summary: The Supply Chain Senior Vice President is responsible for directing and planning all aspects of an organization's supply chain initiatives, policies, and objectives. You will oversee:

Inventory, distribution, and transportation activities of an organization.

SVP will be responsible for directing and overseeing the supply chain management team in order to optimize several manufacturing locations

SVP will develop a 3rd party manufacturing strategy to optimize aggressive delivery windows for the business

Other duties include overseeing the development of the supply chain budget, reviewing the operating performance with quality, cost, and service metrics, and collaborating with quality, customer service, and sales departments to maintain the consistency of supply and demand objectives.

Assess and evaluate current organization. Develop structure and strategic plan to resource the team to achieve objectives of the position

Duties/Responsibilities:

Manage and maintain supply chain costs through multiple business unit replenishment requirements

Achieve by implementing statistical safety stocks, ERP planning parameter overhaul and strategic improvement of current sourcing practices and policies

Lead implementation of an MRP and forecasting system for complex two facility and multiple 3rd party manufacturing locations/distribution system.

Structure and Manage multiple teams ensuring optimization of supply chain performance, quality and cost

Eliminate surprises in the demand stream by leading a process improvement team that systematically optimize the flow of demand through MRP.

Champion corporate-wide implementation of new purchasing ERP integrate supply software system

Lead the transformation of supply chain operations through development and execution of supply chain simplification and variable/base cost productivity projects.

Implement a phased replenishment calendar that mirror market seasonality, to further refine inventory requirements at the SKU level.

Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.

Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.

Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.

Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.

Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.

Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.

Final point of contact for Vendor escalations including vendor profile setup, work order discrepancies, and complaints.

Ability to build business relationships with vendors and increase retention rate.

Utilize strong communication skills to deliver both positive and negative feedback to vendors.

Qualify vendor scope knowledge and update their trade profiles accordingly.

Negotiate vendor rates based on quantity and spend.

Analyze top spend areas and preemptively recruit new vendors when needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Business or related field required; Masters degree preferred.

7+ years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.

Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
