Machinist / Model Maker

Do you have a passion for building prototype parts and equipment? We’re hiring a Machinist / Model Maker for our company’s headquarters in Bridgeton, Missouri. If you possess:

Experience with machine shop, metal fabrication tools and equipment

Experience with CNC Programming, Setup and Machining

Experience using and programming Haas vertical milling machines

As a Model Maker / Machinist, you will work with Research & Development Engineers to machine and build prototype parts and equipment.

Hunter offers a set schedule of 40 hours per week with no overtime required and flexible work hours between 7am – 5pm.

What you will do:

Create prototype machined and fabricated parts from steel and alloy bar stock and sheet metal, working from engineering drawings or verbal instructions.

Operate all machine shop equipment including Bridgeport, lathes, surface grinder, drill press, sheet metal brakes and presses as well as other shop-related equipment.

Read engineering drawings and interpret geometric tolerances to machine and inspect parts.

Set up machines for various parts including complex castings and extrusions.

Additional Qualifications Include:

High school diploma or equivalent plus 2-year degree or trade school certificate required.

5 years’ experience with a strong background in the use of machine shop, metal fabrication tools and equipment.

CNC Programming, Setup and Machining Experience Required

Experience using and programming Haas vertical milling machines is a plus, but not required.

Experience with Master Cam also a plus.
