Sr. Combat Systems Engineer

Future Technologies is seeking a Sr. Combat Systems Engineer located in Dahlgren, Virginia to join our winning team. Clearance: Must have active DOD clearance

Responsibilities

Provide systems engineering support of Naval Surface combat system development. Systems engineering support shall be in all applicable warfare mission areas and to both new construction and in service ships.

Provide system engineering expertise to the participation in Government combat system test events, including preparation, execution, and report generation

Support for the full acquisition life cycle, including all technical processes and technical management processes defined in Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG), and encompass derivation of operational need to delivery of capability

Review and development of engineering change proposals, ship change documents, interface change requests, design specification changes, inputs into interface specifications, and fleet advisories. This support shall include participation with prime developers in their software development process, whether that is waterfall, agile, spiral, or another development methodology

Provide system engineering expertise to the Government in applying mission and operational knowledge and context, to evaluate designs, identify technical issues and associated recommendations, and to conduct engineering performance studies and analyses on combat system improvements to new systems, or of existing systems throughout the systems engineering process

Evaluate and provide comments / recommendations to combat system requirements and interfaces to translate into requirements and design for modeling and simulation systems and virtualized environments

Perform engineering reviews and critique of combat system proposals and efforts, identifying engineering shortfalls, key trade requirements, additional option considerations, and general assessments of concepts/ideas and methodologies being pursued

Review and analyze specifications and other documentation, generate and submit comments, and participate in comment adjudication with the developer

Qualifications

BS or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics

Current DoD Security Clearance

Specialized experience with emphasis in one or more of the following: Combat Systems Cyber Security, Ships Self Defense System, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class, AEGIS Integrated Combat Systems, DDG-1000 Zumwalt class destroyer, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense and Weapon/Sensor Combat Systems to conduct and coordinate individual projects

Experience in coordinating development activities associated with engineering systems, capabilities, and activities

Experience in conducting detailed and complex system engineering to include demonstrated experience in functional and system level requirements analysis, requirements generation and technical community review.
