Sales Engineer


As a Sales Engineer, you will support and optimise engagement between our local customers and our global engineering and infrastructure organisation, both preemptively to minimise failures and resolve unexpected events.

This role will also support the sales organisation to win new content and distribution partners, and partner with Business Development Managers on opportunities, providing local, technical insight into our solutions, answering technical questions raised by prospective partners, and ensuring effective understanding and documentation of these solutions is delivered pre-sale so that post-sale expectations can be effectively met.


Owning IT technical related documentations for the local market

Reviewing and optimising system architecture documentation and incident response documentation

Meeting partners to explain incident response plans and agreements

Collaborating with infrastructure and engineering to ensure we understand and manage client expectations and ensuring we are responding per plan

Rallying colleagues to continually review and enhance infrastructure, and incident response plans

Owning incident closure for local market and ensuring appropriate response processes are followed, including timely impact-appropriate troubleshooting, and ensuring local stakeholders receive agreed updates

Maintaining an aggregated incident log in English and Japanese

Training the sales team to answer fundamental questions about the BHN network

Ensuring partner contracts include clear service levels consistent with BHN infrastructure and support abilities and understanding port work

Understand and define the technical requirements and liaise those with Product and Technology teams when it comes to new business development in Pre-Sales phase


Ability to think clearly and structurally

Ability to influence, rally, and inspire others without direct line authority

Problem solving skills, especially under pressure

Fluent in written and verbal Japanese and English
