
Production Planner
Overview
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring and expediting the flow of product orders, outsourced orders, materials, components, and assemblies within and between production sources in a multi-site, make-to-order production environment.

Responsibilities
Develops, monitors, and revises master production schedules to maximize on-time delivery performance and to minimize cost. Schedules comprehend and anticipate capacity utilization, labor/material/design constraints, specific location capabilities, and cost standards.
Establishes priority for specific customer and/or program needs, and determines impact of specific expediting actions on WIP and backlog
Ensures accurate work orders (routing, specifications, bills of material, drawing revisions, quantities, and expected completion date/time) are dispatched to appropriate plants and work centers.
Compiles and distributes reports that detail WIP status, anticipated late/behind completions, and recovery plans to Operations Management and Program Management.
Requisitions and synchronizes materials to work centers according to Master Production Schedule, production priorities, and material and/or capacity availability.
Ensures conformance to specification of issued materials.
Compiles and maintains records of Finished Goods inventory and WIP location and status.

Manufacturing/Scheduling experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent
Minimum Requirements:
Microsoft Office, Excel Proficiency; experience with basic statistics and statistical reporting; ability to read and understand engineering drawings (BOM’s)
