
2023 Louisiana Boatwright Internship - Communications (10 months)
INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW
This internship is designed to focus primarily on social media, public relations, marketing and communications. Under the direction of the Louisiana Golf Association (LGA) Executive Director, the intern will enhance the LGA’s brand, champion and celebrate Louisiana golf, create digital content, work to provide value-added benefits for LGA member clubs and individual members, and share the “good of the game” message on behalf of the LGA and United States Golf Association. January 17 – November 17, 2023 (flexible start/end dates)

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create/manage social media campaigns and help integrate social media into other LGA communications such as the website and newsletter.
Develop updates and posts for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from LGA events and Reinvigorate the LGA’s YouTube page and work to grow and engage audiences for all social media accounts.
Provide “game day” coverage and post round recaps of LGA Championships, USGA qualifiers, Louisiana Junior Golf Tour events.
Prepare press releases to distribute to the appropriate channels and assist with preparation of event promotion and update email distribution lists and media contacts.
Gather content including interviews and photographs from LGA events and
Assist in sponsorship identification, cultivation and
Work with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to build collaboration and ensure that the LGA is promoting them effectively.
Work on goals with the Executive Director that are part of the LGA’s strategic plan as it relates to communications.
Promote co-branding opportunities with the USGA and Rules of Golf, World Handicap System, GHIN mobile app, and USGA Louisiana Golf Club.
Create, execute, and track all marketing and digital communication strategies.
Work with the Executive Director to increase brand awareness throughout the state.
Identify and implement new member benefits to enhance the LGA member experience.
Promote LGA member clubs through all the LGA’s social media channels. Visit and collaborate with LGA member clubs on Association and USGA initiatives. Identify outreach opportunities in the community to better serve golfers in Louisiana.
